Burning Less Gas and More Calories

  • states that a cars lifetime on the road produces 1.3 billion cubic yards of polluted air.
  • A gallon of burned gas alone emits 24 pounds of global warming gases and carbon dioxide into our atmosphere.

In the last 5 years Metro Atlanta residents have experienced increasing weather changes. Weather changes have caused dangerous snow storms and flooding that has placed the Metro area in unforeseen situations. Studies have shown that one of the many effective solutions to climate change is reducing greenhouse gas emissions. According to The Weather Channel’s 2014 article entitled “50 Worst Traffic Cities in the U.S.”, Atlanta is ranked 21 out of 50 for the worst traffic cities in the U.S. It cites that drivers spend an average of 24.8 hours a year in traffic.

In an effort to not only promote healthier lifestyles but also a healthier environment, Building on Faith is a proud member of The League of American Bicyclists. Biking is not only a good form of cardio but also is a clean form of transportation that cuts fuel emission while decreasing traffic. Just imagine how much gas emission Metro Atlanta would reduce if they take to the streets on their bike a least once a week. Building on Faith is participating in National Biking Month along with thousands of others in the U.S in an effort to burning less gas and more calories. We encourage you to come out and join us!
